Chapter 1: What's Going On? Discussion of the scope of real-life behaviors that typically arise in music therapy.
Chapter 2: Here's the Deal. Discussion of factors that contribute to and cause challenging behaviors, some of which are within therapist's control and some of which are beyond our control.
Chapter 3: Prevention Strategies. Discussion of therapist's responsibility to set up the optimal situation for effective therapy and for preventing difficult behaviors when possible.
Chapter 4: Proactive Planning. Discussion about making proactive rather than reactive contingency plans for dealing with challenging behavior emergencies.
Chapter 5: When the Roof Caves In. Discussion about implementing an emergency plan if necessary and for regrouping after a major behavior incident.
Chapter 6: Analyzing the Situation. Discussion of a systematic method for documenting the behavior incident, analyzing the situation, revising contingency plans, and documenting progress.
Chapter 7: Step-by-step instructions for the option of earning 10 CMTE credits approved by CBMT for just $6.00 per CMTE hour.
Learning Objectives for the Challenging Behaviors Toolbox

The Challenging Behaviors Toolbox is approved by the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT) for 10 Continuing Music Therapy Education credits (CMTE). Credits awarded by CBMT are accepted by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
