By Elizabeth Gilpatrick. 25 new canons and rounds, 8 partner songs, and 19 short songs for every occasion. Songs show melody line only with lyrics; songs with optional instrumental parts have those parts listed (in smaller type) under the song. Optional Orff accompaniment parts are included for most songs - reproducible accompaniment sheets (with full-size type) are given at the end of the book. Subjects include falling rain, losing teeth, calculating cats, floating clouds, seasonal songs, holiday songs, and songs for joyous unison singing. Use as unison songs in the primary grades, and then as part songs in grade 3 to 5. Suggestions for teaching and extending activities are provided to help spur teachers' creative thinking with young students. Songs were written with primary grades in mind, but many are useful for upper elementary grades as well. 84 pages.
