Our Perspective

The Recorder Resource Kit student book is laid out with easy-to-read scores and gives the CD tracks for the performance version and the accompaniment version. The first 5 notes taught will enable pentatonic improvisation. The composer biographies included with a melody the composer used or an excerpt of a composition are nice additions.  -Kathy

Grades 3 - 5
Each song tells how many bars of introduction the accompaniment has. Familiar songs usually give at least one verse of the lyrics. New musical concepts (slur, pickup note, etc.) are introduced throughout the book. Includes listening suggestions, composer biographies and theory and note name practice.
