Crazy 8ths Card Game For 1 to 9 players, ages 6 and up
Learning to read music is fun with this new card game! Crazy Eighths cards combine music education with popular card games - play by reading notes instead of numbers. 10 games are listed in order of difficulty, and a Cheat Sheet card is included so that anyone can join in - even if they don't read music yet. Includes a deck of 56 musical notation cards in 3 suits, starting from (bass clef) C below middle C and going up 2 octaves. Rests, triplets, and repeats are also included.
A 28-page instruction booklet gives the rules for 8 group and 2 solitaire games.
Can this game be played leaving out the bass clef cards?

Best Answer:This deck has a lot of versatility - I've used it as the MEMORY game by having kids match notes at whatever reading experience they have had. The face of the card will be a Jazz Cat matching an Elephant but it's the note that has to match and they get that.... So like - using just A-G notes or C position and a Rest card. You can play a variety of games. I'm working with K-3rd grade mostly and so complicated games I haven't tried. But Old Maid which is actually the Musical Chair in this deck was well received - and another great matching game. I teach piano and use this deck a lot to break up a lesson with various tactics to challenge kids to read notes. I like this deck better than the Memory note game which I also purchased.
