Our Perspective

Like the book Essential Elements Recorder, this has a nice variety of songs and starts out pentatonic. This edition adds a CD which has play-along and accompaniment tracks.  The tempo adjustment feature available on the computer software is handy when learning new fingerings or rhythms.  -Kathy

Book, play-along CD and start-up video
32 pages

Designed for today's classroom, Essential Elements Recorder Classroom Method includes easy-to-use technology features that enhance the learning experience for any teaching situation. It can be an effective tool for introducing or reinforcing general music concepts, as an introduction to ensemble performance or individual or small group instruction.

The proven pedagogy features one new concept at a time, careful pacing with reinforcement, rhythm raps, multicultural music, reviews, quizzes and Performance Spolights.

The Start-up video teaches the basics of posture, hand position, breathing, tonguing, the first few notes and instrument care. The video is accessed on the available CD-rom or (in the near future) online at www.halleonard.com/eerecorder .

The CD's high quality accompaniments feature real instruments, expertly arranged for young musicians in a variety of styles to make practicing productive and fun. The recorder tracks also introduce various music ensembles such as band, orchestra and choir. Each track's tempo can be adjusted (with included computer software).
