how do recorders differ from wooden native american flutes?
new m on Mar 23, 2013
Best Answer: Soprano and tenor recorders are in c major, Alto and bass are in F major. Europeans have always assigned these keys because they were able to write music that were compatable in orchestras Native American flutes are made in various sizes and various woods so they are in different keys. In the old days the Natives did not have written music. They achieved the sounds of worship, love and festival music by length of flute and the bore (hole) through the wood.

is there a case for this set? or maybe a stand?
A shopper on Dec 13, 2014
Best Answer: The Yamaha recorder case will work with the Harmony recorders:

Also, we do carry a consort recorder stand:

We would recommend putting the tenor in the middle of the stand, and the smaller recorders around the outside. Please note that this stand will not hold the bass recorder. We do not currently have a stand for that recorder.
