what is the difference with Harmonys' Renaissance and Traditional Recorder?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Recorders were originally ensemble instruments used in Renaissance music. Because Renaissance music put more of an emphasis on polyphony, the recorders were constructed to have a very even upper, mid, and lower register. Then baroque music came around and the recorder became a solo instrument, so baroque recorders put a stronger emphasis on the upper and lower registers (since we have a tendency to hear mid-range frequencies more prominently in mixes anyways.) So technically, Renaissance recorders are designed for use in recorder-only ensembles whereas baroque recorders are designed to be played with other instruments.

A shopper on Aug 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These come with a carrying bag, but not a cleaning rod. The rods are available separately for $.45, and our item number for them is 450806.
