Hand made in Ghana, West Africa, this Talking Drum is covered in various styles of Kintekloth fabric and made with goat skin heads. Played with a mallet (included). The talking drum originated in Nigeria - historically, talking drum masters sent messages, held conversations, and talked to the spirits with the hourglass-shaped drum. Squeezing the drum or pulling its strings are two of the many techniques used to produce the talking drum's characteristic rhythms and melodies. This drum is a good size for children and adults at 15" x 7".  Since this instrument is hand made with natural materials, no two will look or sound exactly alike.

Best Answer: It seems to be glued down well. However, it is a cheaper made drum, but works.
