By James Thurber, Illustrated by Louis Slobodkin
In this classic tale from James Thurber, when Princess Lenore falls ill, the king promises to get her whatever she needs to feel better. When she demands to have the moon, the king consults the wisest men he knows, who all try to come up with a solution to the problem. In the end, however, it turns out the jester is the wisest in the king's court, and finds a way for Lenore to both have the moon in her hand and to keep it in the sky at the same time.
