The Clatter, similar to a Kokoriko, makes a click-clack sound that changes with play and goes from a gentle ripple to a clattering crescendo.  Using an up and down movement with both hands, the Clatter's segments clap against each other to create the sound.  Try different speeds and your movements will soon turn to rhythm.  The Clatter provides an ideal introduction to rhythm and will help to enhance Children's sensory perception, auditory skills, bilateral coordination, and cognitive development.

Colorful and similar to a kokiriko, but safer for smaller hands...won't get pinched.

Can anyone tell me how sturdy these are? I'm looking for something for an early childhood music class - I go through the plastic clatterpillars pretty quickly. The pieces fall off, or the plastic underneath tears. Would love to try this but it's much more expensive so hoping someone can give me a sense of if it would last with constant use.

Best Answer: I've had mine for a while and it withstands a group of toddlers as well as music groups for kids with special needs and mine has not broken yet.
