Recorders with Orff Ensemble Book I
Music for Children series Supplement
By Isabel McNeill Carley
49 pages

Part of a series of 3 books designed to provide repertoire (pentatonic and diatonic) for beginning and intermediate soprano recorder (SR) players. Pieces are musically demanding yet rewarding, sequentially arranged, and parallel to the Orff Schulwerk.  Most of the pieces are intended to be both played and danced. Simple accompaniments for various combinations of Orff instruments with cello and guitar are provided.

Like Part One's pentatonic section, Part Two is arranged in order of difficulty.

I. Pentatonic
First Suite, Theme and Variations, Miniature Suite, Circle Dance, Two Fanfares, March, Fanfare, Procession, Song for Friday, March, Andante, Scherzo, Square Dance, Lonways for as Many as Will, Fairy Lullaby, All Hands Round, Fanfare IV, Dance Rondo, Jig.

II. Diatonic
Allegro, Snow at Midnight, Rondino, Andante, Autumn Leaves, Rondo in A Minor, Fire Dance, Dorian Dance, Dorian Scherzo, Phrygian Melody, Daydream (SR, AR, TR, BR/BX parts), Quiet Song, Rondino in C.
