I own many drums but not a buffalo drum and this one has special significance, so I can now use it in my practice and support a great initiative.

does this have a deep sound, and will the pink colour last, without wearing off?

Best Answer: Hi, Alisa:

The sound is a deep buffalo drum sound (nearly identical to the black Remo buffalo drum with a tribal vibration that resonates). It has faded slightly, but I tend to run drum circles mostly outdoors in the sun.

It is not my primary leader's drum (I use it for specialized drum circles, breast cancer awareness, women's empowerment, etc.) but it has held up well.

I chose this one because it looks beautiful. My friend has the black 16" buffalo drum, which sounds fantastic, but it's to big for me when I want to also play it as a hand drum. So I thought maybe I should get a 14" one?
