Four Cooperative Games for the Music Classroom
By Bonnie Krueger
These music games are inspired by various popular game shows. Who Wants to Be a Virtuoso? is a quiz-style game where the questions get progressively harder. In That's Your Cue partners help their teammates guess terms and music words. Tic, Tac, True...or Not? is an interactive tic-tac-toe game. Music Scribbles and Sketches is a create-your-own-picture-puzzles guessing game.
Directions for each game are included, along with suggestions for adapting them for various classroom settings. A bank of more than 250 questions organized by type and topic is also provided. Most may be used to play any of the games, allowing for maximum flexibility of use and making this a great budget-stretching resource. Students are sure to enjoy their turn in the hot seat as they identify instruments and music styles, explore eras and composers, echo rhythms, and more!
