The author says Russian songs must be sung in Russian, so only a phonetic transcription under the notation of the voice part is provided. Read the preface for correct adjustments in pronunciation - the phonetic transcriptions were made according to German pronunciation. English literal translations are included. 5 of the 12 pieces have dance or game directions.
