Music is the best gift you can give a child. Her child's xylophone is broken, so I thought I would upgrade to a Glockkenspiel.

How does this sound compared to the more expensive Sonor glockenspiels?
Derek J on Feb 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Oh, I just realized I didn't answer your actual question. I have not personallly listened to any other soprano glockenspiels. After I bought two of these, I learned that the one to buy for a young child should really be an alto. So after the testing with my tuner resulted the way it did, I then bought two alto glockenspiels at slightly over twice the price of two of these. The different range aside, the difference in sound is astounding. Testing the two alto glockenspiels proved that all bars on both are completely in tune, and also the quality of sound is far superior. Now when I play on the Soprano Diatonic Kinder Glockenspiels, the quality of the sound just screams "TOY!" My family members agree with me, so am certain it is not just my imagination.

Is there a price break if I order multiples of this item? Last year I ordered 7 and received a price reduction of $4.00 per glock.

Did your child find it easy to learn/play songs from the songbook that was provided? Does the Xylophone produce true tone?
