Global Beat GBWEST-15 set of 15 Orff Instrument Combination with Fiberglass Xylophones.

This 15 piece set is a good assortment of glockenspiels, xylophones and metallophones for classrooms.  As you can see there are more xylophones than metallophones in this set, since the ring of the metallophone can overshadow the crisp sound of the xylophones.  Typically metallophones are used for 1/2 notes and whole notes in an Orff orchestration, with the xylophones playing eighth or quarter notes.  The Glockenspiels add the "magic" to the ensemble with their light airy tones.

Each barred instrument includes one pair of the appropriate mallets and F# and Bb bars.  This set includes:

  • 2 - Soprano Glockenspiels (203822)
  • 2 - Alto Glockenspiels (203823)
  • 2 - Soprano Xylophones (202410)
  • 3 - Alto Xylophones (202411)
  • 2 - Bass Xylophones (202412)
  • 1 - Soprano Metallophone (203819)
  • 2 - Alto Metallophones (203820)
  • 1 - Bass Metallophone (203821)

One-Year Guarantee on all Global Beat Orff Instruments!

Are the tone bars removable in these sets, or are they screwed in? As a music therapist I would like to be able to easily remove notes that I don't want students to play. Would this be possible with this set?
Jordan Snel on Jul 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can remove the bars on any of these instruments.
