The Studio 49 2000 Series SGD Glockenspiel is diatonic (range C3 to A4), with F# and Bb (16 bars). The bars, made from a nickel-plated special steel alloy, attach to an all-wood, solid pine, resonator box. The 2000 Series glockenspiels feature a mellower, full-bodied sound than other brands.

How do you clean these? I purchased these from your company previously and the bars are now turning black.

I've not had the bars turn black. They do pt and rust a bit over time, but it has not affected the sound. I've had to replace a lot of tubing and pins over the years due to dry rot and bent pins. I've cleaned the bars with windex. Perhaps a metal polish might take the black off. I have Studio 49 instruments that are pretty old that still sound fine with regular maintenance ver the years. Can the bars be removed? Would you recommend for music therapy classes with young autistic children?
