If your Studio 49 soprano or alto xylophone has a resonator box with a plastic inner lining, this is the replacement strip you need to replace old, worn tubing. These instruments were built between 1975 - 1992. The pins for this style of resonator box ARE NOT replaceable or removable; once you have encouraged the pins to be as straight as possible, then use this strip of rubber to go over the pins, along the whole length of the instrument.
This item is for one Studio 49 soprano or alto xylophone (contains 2 strips, one for each side of the instrument).
Best Answer:Hi Marsha, Here is a link to a YouTube video we posted about replacing the rubber pins on a xylophone. This is for the flexible ones - not the nails with the covers on them. Hopefully, this will be helpful to you.
