Teacher's Guide for use with Windsongs Books 1-4 (items 813969, 813971, 813973 and 813977, each available separately) in teaching the soprano recorder. Designed for Kodaly or Orff programs, this book includes supplementary and complementary tasks for students who have mastered the soprano recorder skills and varied ways for continued practice for students still struggling to master the set of skills. 

These ideas are presented under the headings Literacy, Practice Process, Co-ordination and Extensions. Every song does not have all 4 headings and ideas. Literacy includes: new notes and fingering, rhythm vocabulary, melodic vocabulary, form and special terminology. Practice Process includes: introduction of a new skill, integration of a new skill and repetition with variation. Co-ordination includes: fingering, body percussion and mallet technique. Extension includes: arrangements, creative choices and opportunities for the students to create, improvisation, movement and ensemble sequences. Some pieces offer 2 arrangements from which to choose.   

Contents: Introduction to the Recorder, Ready to Produce Those First Beautiful Sounds, Articulation.   

Book 1 - B, A, G
Songs: Bonnie Bee, Polka Hop, March, Hot Cross Buns, Hop Old Squirrel, Long Legged Sailor, The Clown, Snow, Allelu, The Wind, Come Come and Dance.   

Book 2 - Adds E and D.
Songs: Engine Engine, Rain Song, The Eagle, The Flight, Old Mr. Rabbit, Old Brass Wagon, Old MacDonald, Goodbye Brother Goodbye Sister, 3-5-7-9-2-4-6-8.   

Book 3 - Adds C, high C and high D.
Songs:  Le Loup le Renard la Belette, Un Kilometre, Down in the Meadow, Hush Little Baby, It's Raining, Beaugency, Do Re Mi La Perdrix, The River and Revir Eht, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, Sid Squid, Aiken Drum.   

Book 4 - Adds high E, F and F#.
Songs: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Turn the Glasses Over, Les Petites Marionettes, Canoe Song, That's a Mighty Pretty Motion, L'il Liza Jane, Wind the Bobbin, Old King Glory, Ah Si Mon Moine, Donkey Riding, Dance, Sur le Pont d'Avignon, Skip to My Lou, Cockles and Mussels, Streets of Laredo.
