Description

Yamaha has combined quality and durability to bring you their 20 Series Recorders. This 3-piece F alto recorder is made of lightweight ABS resin and features precise, uniform intonation, making it perfect for beginners. The YRA-28B uses Baroque Fingering and has double holes for low F and F#, low G and G#. It’s 18 ¼” long and includes a zippered bag, cleaning rod, fingering chart, and joint grease.

The three-piece construction boasts some additional advantages:

  • Three-piece construction can be easier to clean.
  • To have children focus on listening or practicing their fingering, teachers can have children remove the recorder’s head. That way they won’t be tempted to play when they're not supposed to be.

Why did you choose this?
West Music Store
Love these for my recorder ensemble in elementary school. The kids can clean them easily and handle the cases and parts when setting up/cleaning up for rehearsal. They have a lovely warm tone and are very durable. Been using them for 4 years and never disappointed.

We are using these recorders for 5th grade as a bridge between elementary and middle school music experiences. I bought a classroom set earlier, and several students want their own to use at home! Easy to play, and the sound is very good.

Students love the challenge of practicing songs they have mastered transposed on the alto, or adding an ostinato to a melody, and this alto is the best deal.

I chose this item because of my daughters music teacher. He has done a great job exposing students with different music instruments and recommended her this recorder.

This instrument is in tune and less expensive than most other altos - and when you need a lot like I do, it's the only way to go.
Martha J on Dec 2, 2011
This recorder is an alto which is a mellower tone. It's beautiful! Comes with everything that a musician needs. Plus natural fingering. I'm excited! I can't wait to get it!

What is the difference between English fingering and Baroque or German fingering?
Julie J on Jun 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The English/Baroque is a forked fingering, and the German is not.
