Mark Fiagle

Mark FiagleMark has been with West Music since 1986. He specializes in saxophone, flute and bassoon repair and is qualified to work on all brands of Woodwind instruments.

He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1981 with a degree in Music Performance and attended Red Wing Vo-Tech in 1985-86, where he gathered experience working on both woodwind and brass instruments.

Mark enjoys traveling with his family, as well as volunteering at his church.

Peter Hart

Peter HartPeter has repaired band instruments at West Music since 1991. He earned his BM in saxophone performance from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1980 and his MM from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York in 1982. In 1986, he received his Band Instrument Repair degree at Red Wing in Minnesota.

In addition to his duties at West Music, Peter teaches saxophone through the Cedar Rapids Symphony School and plays professionally with the Iowa Vanguard Jazz Collective, Funk Stop, the Rod Pierson Big Band, Thelonious Assault, the Manny Lopez Big Band and the Dennis McPartland Schoolhouse Jazz Band.

Greg Hendrickson

Greg HendricksonGreg has been repairing brass and woodwind instruments at the Ottumwa West Music location since 2000.

He's a 1998 graduate of the Band Instrument Repair program at Red Wing, MN and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Univesity of Saskatchewan. Greg is very active in the Ottumwa community as President of the Ottumwa Civic Music Association, and serves on the boards for the Ottumwa Municipal Band and the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. 

Greg is an active performer on the tuba and enjoys performing with many ensembles all around eastern Iowa. Since 2002 Greg has led the "Lowly Brass" tuba/euphonium ensemble - Ottumwa's most prominent and versatile chamber ensemble.

Tim Oldre

Tim OldreTim is a 2005 graduate from Northwestern College with a Bachelor degree in music. Tim is also a 2006 graduate from Minnesota State Technical College with a degree in instrument repair.

Tim repairs band instruments in Cedar Falls with an emphasis on brass instruments.

As a trombone and tuba player, Tim has kept active in the community playing his horns. Tim is also active in his church helping with the sound system.

Jay Ramsey

Jay RamseyJay is a Cedar Falls repair technician. He's a 2003 graduate of Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical in Red Wing Minnesota. He also holds a degree in music education from the University of Northern Iowa.

Jay repairs non-string band instruments of all types. He's been with West Music since 2005.

Jay enjoys playing saxophone and clarinet with various groups and shows in eastern Iowa.

Kim Saito

Kim SaitoKim is the instrument repair specialist in our Moline, IL location. She has extensive training in repairs on all woodwind and brass instruments. In addition, her specialty is repairing and regulating professional handmade flutes in collaboration with West Music Company's Flute Authority team. Kim also repairs orchestral string instruments.

She graduated from Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical, in Red Wing, Minnesota in 2006, and also graduated from Iowa State University in 2005 with her Bachelor of Arts in Music. Her main performance instrument is the clarinet.

Kim takes great pride in the quality of her repairs, and understands that a perfect performance can only be achieved with a well regulated, well playing instrument.

Ben Schildgen

Ben SchildgenBen handles woodwind and brass repair on all makes and models.

He's a 1985 graduate of Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical in Red Wing Minnesota and has been with West Music since 2003.

He likes hunting and fishing, other outdoor activities, and spending time with family.

Andy Taylor

Andy TaylorAndy has been trained on all woodwind and brass instruments and specializes in woodwinds, clarinets, oboes, flutes, and piccolos.

He graduated from Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical in Red Wing Minnesota in 1995, and has been at West Music ever since.

He's had a number of memorable "repair moments," including an emergency repair for the Lincoln Center jazz band.

Jeff Wilson

Jeff WilsonJeff repairs violins, violas, cellos, and string bass. He also does bow work, including rehairing.

He apprenticed into the position, and has been repairing orchestral string instruments for West Music since 2000.

Kevin Halbrooks

Kevin HalbrooksKevin is a luthier in Coralville. He graduated from Minnesota State Technical College with degrees in violin repair and guitar repair/construction with certification in advanced finishing and electric construction. He worked for the Amati Violin Shop in Houston, Texas before joining the West Music team.

He is a local builder with an interest in violin and viola construction with several models now in construction.

He's certified for warranty on Yamaha, Gibson/Epiphone, Martin, Taylor, Fender/Squier, Jackson, Charvel, Gretsch, Tacoma, Guild, Takamine, Ovation, Peavey, Seagull, Larrivee, Ibanez, Benedetto, Olympia, Alvarez, Cort, Dean, Godin, Hamer, Schecter, Ltd, Esp and Washburn. Also, he's done special warranty repairs for Galiger guitars, Eastman, Paul Reed Smith, Carvin, Olson, D'aquisto, D'Angelico, Breedlove, Kramer, G&L, Modulus, Music Man, Parker, Rickenbacker, Steinberger, Tom Anderson, and Valley Arts. Tom has a degree in Commercial Music with a Jazz Guitar Performance emphasis, and repair/luthier school training. He's been doing this work professionally since 1985 and for friends and family since 1978. With the help of his dad, he built his first guitar in 1978. He plays professionally in two local groups: Me and Rosie B (4 piece band), and Scotch and Soda (a duo with his wife), and occassionally performs with a jazz group in La Crosse, WI. He's been playing guitar since he was six years old and professionally for over 34 years.

Electronic Repair

SERVICE & REPAIR

West Music Company is here to help you with all of your electronic repair needs. We service music products including amplifiers, speakers, keyboards, digital pianos, effects pedals, and more. We keep a large number of parts in stock for our customer's repairs and generally provide estimates within 7-10 business days. We do not provide repairs on organs, as parts and service information are often difficult to acquire.

RATES

Our shop rate is $65/hour with a 1 hour minimum. Estimates that are not approved are assessed a $40 fee to cover our time spent diagnosing the repair. We offer a "next on bench" option for an additional $65. All payments are due at the time of pickup.

WARRANTY WORK

We are authorized to complete warranty repairs for Fender, Peavey, Roland, Tascam, and Yamaha. Please check the specifics of your warranty before dropping your repair off at one of our stores. All warranty repairs must include a copy of the original sales receipt. Any warranty repairs that were not purchased from West Music will be charged a $65 warranty processing fee.

GUARANTEE

We guarantee labor and parts for 30 days after the date of repair. This warranty is limited to repairs performed under normal conditions.
