    Woodwind Yamaha Instruments

At one time, woodwinds were all (surprise!) made of wood. Now you’ll find them in wood, metal, and even plastic. All feature a mouthpiece, an opening, and a narrow pipe with holes in between. Some use a reeded mouthpiece (like the clarinet or double-reeded oboe) while others, like the flute and piccolo, have a reedless mouthpiece. Browse West Music’s collection of Yamaha woodwinds.

    Brass Yamaha Instruments

If you don’t hear them first, you can visually identify brass instruments by their brass/metal construction, large bells, and metal mouthpieces. Trumpets, trombones, and tubas are the most common. But many brass musicians transition to their less common cousins to enhance skills or delight in a new, distinctive sound.
