The story: young Christoph exchanges letters with his uncle about the chaotic arrival of Mr. Beethoven into his house. Christoph doesn't know what to think at first of the outlandish antics of the wild musician living upstairs. In the end, he is won over by the music and actual incidents from the great composer's life. Richly set in 19th century Vienna, Beethoven Lives Upstairs is a touching tale of music, friendship, and genius. Based in part on historical fact, this story features more than 25 performed excerpts of Beethoven's best-loved works.

Special features on the DVD version include behind-the-scenes interviews; Beethoven's 9th music video; English, French, and Spanish language soundtracks; a music gallery featuring more than 50 minutes of music; and a variety of arcade-style musical games to inspire play and advance learning.
