The tunes carry the grooves of New Orleans and reflect musicians ranging from James Booker to the Original Dixieland Jazz Band. Each arrangement has a score, suggestions for performance, and history about the style of music, song or musician. Arrangements are for marimbas and percussion, and can also be played on traditional Orff instruments. Black and white photos of musicians and scenes of New Orleans are included.
