First Steps in Music for Kindergarten & First Grade: In Action

This DVD features FAME-certified master teachers Lindsay Jackson teaching a kindergarten class and Andrew Himelick teaching a first-grade class.  Both instructors use a wide variety of activities, teaching techniques, and strategies from John Feierabend’s First Steps in Music curriculum.  Each class includes two files: one with just a video of the teacher in her classroom conducting the lesson, and a second file with the teacher and John Feierabend commentating as the video runs to describe the decisions and approaches taken during the lesson. 

This DVD illustrates how a male can model singing for young students, and how the Feierabend techniques can be extended to work with elementary students (in addition to preschool).
