Five Golden Rings By Jeff Kriske and Randy DeLelles Book 24 pages A holiday program for children, based on the traditional English Christmas carol "The 12 Days of Christmas". The 12 pieces are elemental in nature and represent a variety of styles, forms, and meters. Incorporates speech, movement, Orff instruments, and song using techniques such as ostinato, canon, and question and answer. Includes suggestions for movement, costumes, speaking parts for 4 children, and 1 solo for a scat-singing cow. Instrument and recorder players will need to be upper elementary-aged children; some of the movement is simple so that primary children can be involved. The performance time is approximately 30 minutes.
