Gettin' Outta Town!

"Gettin' Outta Town" By Jeff Kriske and Randy DeLelles is a compilation of three folk tales of travel retold and arranged for Orff Schulwerk classes, grades 4 - 6. This resource includes ideas for movement, staging, costumes, and props. There are many parts for actors and dancers, and each story uses a narrator. Permission is given to duplicate scripts and student scores.

Look Behind as Well as Before (Congo): includes one song with Orff instrument accompaniment and three short instrumental pieces for soprano recorders, Orff instruments, and non-pitched percussion.
Tikki Tikki Tembo (China): includes 2 Chinese folk songs arranged for Orff instruments and soprano recorders (1 with a vocal part), and one original song with accompaniment.
Bremen Town Musicians (Germany): includes two original songs arranged for Orff instruments, soprano recorders, and voices; and one short instrumental "Running Music."

Instruments used: soprano recorders; soprano and alto glockenspiel; soprano, alto, and bass xylophone; soprano, alto, and bass metallophone; contra bass bars (C, D, E, F, G, A); guiro; cabasa; gankogui; congas; hanging cymbal; gong; temple blocks.
