Guitar Songbook for Music Therapy: A Collection of Spirituals, Children and Folk Songs By Kathryn Scheldt and Frances McClain 111 pages The purpose of this songbook is threefold. First, it is a collection of familiar spirituals, folk and children's songs appropriate for individuals of different ages and abilities. Second, this book is intended to help music therapy students gain proficiency in guitar skills, while also providing a repertoire of songs. Third, this book is a resource which illustrates how songs can be adapted to facilitate cognitive, motor, language, social/behavioral, music, creative and expressive skills. The organization of the book is developmental.; It is divided into four sections: I. Two chord songs in the keys of D, G, C, A, E, and F major. II. Two chord songs in the keys of a, e, and d minor. III. Three and four chord songs in the keys of D, G, C, A, E, and F IV.
