Jazz Day

Roxane Orgill and Francis Vallejo give an inside glance into the making of "Harlem 1958," an iconic photo of 57 prominent jazz musicians on the steps of a brownstone in Harlem.  The photo was taken for a special jazz issue of Esquire magazine.  The day is retold through a series of poems that capture the playful manner of the musicians gathered, along with the struggle of getting them all to stand still for a photo!  Ages 9 +
