Max Found Two Sticks

"Max Found Two Sticks" is a Reading Rainbow book with fantastic, colorful illustrations and rhythmic text by Brian Pinkney. The main character is a boy named Max who doesn't feel like talking. Max picks up two sticks that have fallen from a tree and spends his day imitating the sounds all around him, from flapping bird wings, to rain against the window, to the rumble of a train on the tracks. He discovers that his music can speak as much as words. Written for ages 5 - 8, this book will also appeal to younger children. It is an excellent resource for classroom echoing games and for introducing rhythm sticks!
