¡Simplemente Mariachi! is a standards-based, beginning method series for teaching the vibrant music of the mariachi tradition.  Each lesson states the skills that students are expected to know and be able to demonstrate.  Standards-based, ready-to-print lesson plans, including recommendations for student assessment, are provided with the online audio access. In addition, students will learn about the history and traditions of mariachi through an extensive mariachi history section provided in the appendix.  Students who complete Level I will be able to play a variety of mariachi forms in the keys of D Major, G Major, C Major, and F Major.  The method is suitable for first year study with elementary and/or middle school students via pull-out or daily classroom settings.  In addition, it easily serves as an entry-level music method at the high school level.
