Expand your Orff horizons with Strum it Up! By Sandy Lantz and Gretchen Wahlberg!
This collection of 21 ukulele pieces for the Orff music classroom will quickly become a favorite in your Orff teaching library. The timbre of the ukulele supports the child's voice and allows them to hear and sing harmony more accurately with ukulele accompaniment.
Each piece has orchestrations and some lessons add movement or improvisation. It also includes Polynesian instrumental suggestions, Hawaiian Language guide, and ukulele strumming techniques. Arrangements use ukuleles, barred instruments, unpitched percussion, and recorders to integrate the ukulele with classroom instruments.
