Each tale is told through a narrator, with unique parts and characters. Each story is approximately 15 – 20 minutes in duration, and appropriate for grades 4 – 6. Tales are: The Stonecutter (Japan), Why the Sun and Moon Live in the Sky (Nigeria), and The Cat and the Rat (West Indies).
This collection includes performance suggestions, Orff arrangements, and costume and props ideas. Instruments used: soprano and alto recorder; soprano and alto glockenspiel; soprano, alto, and bass xylophone; conga; timpani; guitar; finger cymbals; cowbell; agogo bells; hanging cymbal; wind chimes; claves; maracas; cabasa; guiro; temple blocks; hand drum; bongos; log drum; gong.
