Description
The Raccoon Philosopher Music for Children Series By Danai Gagne-Apostolidou;and Judith Thomas-Solomon Book 66 pages An original mini-musical in mixed and irregular meters, for upper elementary grades. This program uses the Orff-Schulwerk approach to create a unique mini-musical, inspired by Martin Buber's thoughts in Ten Rungs: Hassidic Sayings. The program helps the music teacher and students feel comfortable creating and performing mixed and irregular meters and some modes. Carefully designed lesson plans embrace playing recorders and Orff instruments, singing, moving, and improvising, and are written as preparatory activities for the scenes of the mini-musical as well as springboards for interdisciplinary connections.
