The big plus of My Recorder Book is that it can be completed in one school year.  The pages are not too busy for young students. Note heads with the pitch letters inside the heads are used for the first 3 notes taught – B, A, G. After this, regular note heads are used except when a new note is introduced.  Then the first exercise for the new note puts the pitch inside the head the first time it occurs in the exercise. This edition also has a CD with a synthesized accompaniment.  -Kathy
