Succeeding at the Piano Lesson and Technique Book - Grade 4
Succeeding at the Piano is a well-paced and complete piano method for beginning piano students. Created by respected teacher Helen Marlais, the books in this series logically introduce musical concepts, present a wide variety of solo pieces, and encourage musicality from the very start. Each level includes these core books: Lesson and Technique, Theory and Activity, Recital, and Merry Christmas.
Level 4 introduces students to triads and inversions; two octave scales; the circle of fifths; dominant seventh chords in root position; the trill; the key of B flat Major; 3 forms of E minor and G minor; diminished triads; refined pedal technique; sixteenth notes and sixteenth notes variants. Bach’s Prelude in C BWV 846, and classical themes by Brahms, Liszt, Mozart, Beethoven and Grieg are interspersed with folk tunes and original solos.
