Over in the Meadow (Feierabend)
Description
The classic song "Over in the Meadow" probably originated in the United Kingdom in the sixteenth century, and has been adapted into this lovely picture book by John Feierabend. In 1882 in the Ozarks, Katherine Floyd Dana (pen name Olive A. Wadsworth) wrote the words and Mabel Wood Hill wrote the music down for what is believed to be the first time, thereby preserving the song for future generations.
The song is notated in the book and an mp3 download is available. A brief history of the song is included. This counting and rhyming folk song also introduces the natural world we share with animals. Beautifully illustrated, this book will become a staple for future generations. Over in the Meadow was added in 2016.
