Description
Barb Philipak has teamed up with Paul Jennings to bring together all of the creative teaching ideas that she has developed over the years using Recorder Karate in her classroom, as well as in workshops with other teachers.  Among the many topics covered in the text of this Teacher Handbook are sections, often with worksheets, on:

Common Problems and How To Fix Them
Classroom Management/Testing Survival
Using Recorder Karate with the National Standards
Working With Special Needs Students
Anchor Sheets and Exit Slips (with downloadable examples)
Dojo Groups

One of several exclusive extras included with this product is MIDI files for each tune so that you can use the music at any tempo you like, using software and apps that let you work flexibly with MIDI files. You can find these for most operating systems including Mac, iPhone and Android, Windows, and more. Also, there are online features on a website, just as there are for Recorder Karate, which will allow your students to practice with the tracks online. That's also where you will find reproducible/projectable charts and worksheets including:

How to practice and Weekly Recorder Practice sheets
Rubric for testing; Rubric for video testing
Quizzes on counting and fingering
Worksheets on things like F vs. F#, high C vs. low C, and other similar challenges

As you would expect, volume 2 has tons more music, sequenced by difficulty and designed to be played in a belt-testing environment. The selections are divided into the following sections:

Review/Sequencing – This section addresses the teaching sequence in the first volume of Recorder Karate and providing options for tune substitution in both volumes
Black Belt Degrees – This section includes nine new arrangements, carefully sequenced with gradually more difficult technical challenges.
Advanced Music Beyond The Nine Black Belts – This section provides substitution options and additional levels for more advanced players.
Seasonal Music – This section presents new arrangements for holiday performance within the method style, all arranged with testing lengths.
Concert Selections - As with the first volume of Recorder Karate, longer concert settings of some songs within the method are included in this section.

The music is fully orchestrated and includes folk songs, classical works, old favorites, and tunes from around the world.
New notes: low C, F, Bb, E', and optional G#.

New concepts include half-hole fingering, slurs, rhythms that get progressively harder, various key signatures and time signatures, accidentals, eighth rests, and more work with ties, sharps, flats, and pick-up notes.

Songs:
Largo from New World Symphony; Rocky Mountain; The Wedding March (Wagner); Old Joe Clark; Can Can – slow; Can Can – fast; America (My Country 'Tis Of Thee); Polly Wolly Doodle – slow; Polly Wolly Doodle – fast; Four in A Boat; I've Been Working on the Railroad; Arirang; Aura Lee; When Johnny Comes Marching Home; On Top Of Old Smoky; Doggie, Doggie; The Water Is Wide; Red River Valley; Eine Kleine Nachtmusik; Buffalo Gals; Home On the Range; Renaissance Dance (Susato); Take Me Out To the Ball Game; Jingle Bells; We Three Kings; Shalom Chaverim; The Water Is Wide – duet; Variations on an Old Appalachian Game Tune (Four In A Boat); Rhapsody on a Civil War Ballad (Aura Lee)
