Playtime: Instrumental Pieces

This collection of instrumental pieces for Orff ensembles by Shirley McRae focuses on pieces for technique building and/or performance. The book contains chapters on unpitched percussion, mallet technique (on barred pitched instruments), featuring families (each group of barred mallet instruments), and mixed barred instruments. Of the 44 pieces, many have lyrics, games, recorder descants, piano accompaniments, rondos, improvisation, performance hints and/or suggested forms.   

For elementary to middle school (grades 2 and up).
