Straightforward jazz instruction on jazz concepts before each piece makes jazz accessible to beginning recorder players. Most of the ten songs use only the natural notes with just a few using F sharp or B flat. The pieces are written in a variety of styles: rock, blues, swing, ballad, and tango. A glossary in each practice section defines new vocabulary terms such as "a tempo" or "espressivo." Includes an Enhanced CD with performance/accompaniment tracks and a practice tempo accompaniment and digital files (piano accompaniments). Accompaniments use piano and other instruments. The book is reproducible.
