This collection of songs from around the world will help develop students' understanding of our worldwide community and help them develop community in their class, too. Teaching suggestions and ideas to extend and adapt the music are given. The ensemble music covers many aspects of music, and the level of students' musicianship will increase playing them.Each lesson gives the song title, culture of origin, Mari's insight about the music, song information (pronunciation guides, translations, facts, teaching ideas), ensemble strategies, extensions, and the ensemble score. Permission is given one teacher to photocopy the student activities.The enclosed mixed-media CD is enhanced and contains audio tracks and digital files. To access the digital files you will need a PDF reader, such as Adobe Reader. Each song has files for individual parts with standard notation, individual parts with AlphaNotes Notation, vocal scores, and bell board template.
