“Step It Down” is a classic collection from the Georgia Sea Islands and rural South of games, plays, songs, and stories from the Afro-American heritage. All emphasize cooperation and sharing as they show children how to have fun with nothing more than their hands and feet, voices, and imaginations. Along with variations of Pattycake, This Little Piggy, and I Had an Old Rooster, the 70 children's activities include those with origins in Africa and in slavery-era America. Each selection includes simple instructions, background notes, lyrics, and music. Coordinating Put Your Hand on Your Hip CD is available separately (item 850411).
