Tales to Tell, Tales to Play Music for Children Supplement By Carol Erion & Linda Monssen Book 50 pages Four folk tales retold and arranged for music, movement, and Orff instrumentation. The adaptation of the Native American tale reveals a lesson-legend, while the other 3 conclude with a moral. The text of each tale is designed to be delivered by a narrator. This frees children for miming the action, and for movement, singing, and improvisation. Simple dances are provided, although most are not choreographed in terms of specific steps. Suggestions are made as to the type of steps that are characteristic to the culture from which the tale comes. Songs should be sung by everyone.
