The Little Christmas Book
Description
Enjoy 13 songs for children's voices, Orff instruments, and recorders. Includes four original and nine traditional songs; six of the songs may be performed as canons. The orchestrations for the songs are created in the traditional Orff style with recommendations on developing children's own orchestrations. The short ostinati accompaniment patterns are sometimes only 1 or 2 measures in length. Mary Helen demonstrates how the rhythmic building brick and model word processes espoused by Gunild Keetman can be used to develop students' composition and improvisation skills and enhance their reading and writing notation abilities. Notes with teaching or performance suggestions are given for each piece. For grades 1 to 6.
