The Music Tree: Student's Book, Time to Begin

The Music Tree series is a standard of piano pedagogy. In Time to Begin, beginning piano students start with off-staff notation and playing groups of 2 or 3 black notes. Rhythm, musicality, and grand staff reading are gradually introduced. Students are encouraged to focus on high vs. low, soft vs. loud, quarter notes, half notes, and repeated notes.
