The Solo Timpanist

Originally written in 1963 by legendary timpanist, Vic Firth of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, "The Solo Timpanist" includes 26 etudes for two to four drums. Each etude includes a very informative introduction indicating sticking, muffling, tuning and other musical suggestions. Not only is "The Solo Timpanist” a popular method for college percussion audition lists, it also is used on all-state audition lists throughout the United States.
