This film is from the Emmy Award-winning live-action Composers' Specials series. “Bach's Fight for Freedom” is set in 1717, when the composer Johann Sebastian Bach was struggling to follow his dream of composing different kinds of music. His employer, Duke Wilhelm, only wanted traditional sacred music at the court, so Bach was feeling very frustrated and stifled. A young assistant named Frederick begins to work for Bach, and he too wants to follow his own dream. The story not only tells the story of J.S. Bach, it tells the story of how anyone can be creative, inspiring, and follow their own destiny.
