Part of the Composers' Specials series, this is the 6th and final film in the live-action series. Set in 18th century Dublin, it tells the story of Jamie, a boy with a golden voice who is down on his luck, and Handel, the great composer whose career is failing. Given one last chance to prove themselves, Jamie and Handel learn to trust each other and believe in their own talents. Joining forces, the two make the first performances of Messiah a resounding success. The DVD is in English, Spanish, and French languages and includes "The Making of" footage and historical notes. Many of Handel’s musical compositions are featured, including Water Music, Music for the Royal Fireworks, and Messiah. This DVD is in color, approximately 50 minutes long, and for ages 6-12. A CD of the music is also available separately (851448).
