Don Dupont and Brian Hiller compiled the useful 39 Orff-Shulwerk activities in “Make a Joyful Sound” for elementary grades. Presented in progressive order of difficulty, these exercises involve body percussion, speech, singing, unpitched percussion, barred Instruments, recorder, and movement. Activities feature step-by-step guidelines for performance and suggestions for extensions with the media focus from each lesson. Interspersed throughout the book, the authors have included anecdotes for how they have applied the activities in their classrooms.
The visuals in the lessons may be reproduced for single classroom use.
