In this introductory unit, your students will discover 4 different styles of jazz (swing, bebop, Dixieland, jazz-rock), hear the sounds of jazz instruments and meet Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis-four great musicians who created and shaped this genre.

This kit includes an informative teacher's guide, a set of flashcards for review (1 reproducible styles card and one card each for each of the 4 styles and each of the 4 major musicians)and a CD with real musicians playing real instruments, not synthesized sequences.
